Communication of events and notices remain one of the hardest challenges we face here in Shorecrest. In 2017 a new and improved web-page was introduced which includes a calendar of events that highlight upcoming events and a post event picture gallery. You can also use this web-page to email our office or Board of Directors with any questions or concerns. Check us out at

FOOD BANK & Community Giving

In 2017 Teresa Holcomb and the Saints Pantry Food Bank provided help to our neighbors in need through our Saturday food bank. In addition, a summer food program was set up that provided lunch to kids in need of a healthy meal. Last summer many lunches were served by our pool staff. In the fall a back-pack program supplied several kids in our neighborhood with school supplies and in December many wonderful Christmas gifts were donated. These are the kind of things that make us proud to be a part of the Shorecrest community. Thank you to those who helped make these programs such a success.

Last year the Shorecrest community hosted several wonderful events. The festivities started in February with the club hosting a Valentine’s Spaghetti Dinner at the club house. It was a great way to enjoy a good meal with friends and neighbors. In April the community hosted their annual Easter brunch and Easter egg hunt. Ladies in the community met to stuff Easter eggs with treats (no it really wasn’t the Easter bunny!) and prepared and served a wonderful breakfast before the hunt began. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped to continue this tradition.

In May Shorecrest hosted the 1st annual Yoga retreat for the South Sound Yoga and Wellness Group. This group was formed by Pam Lau, Shorecrest’s community yoga instructor! The retreat was a 3-day event that included a variety of yoga classes (taught by several guest teachers), dance, delicious food and fellowship. The Shorecrest community, clubhouse and pool area was a wonderful, relaxing setting for this retreat. The 2018 retreat is scheduled for May 19-20, the weekend before Memorial Day and since it was such a success and so enjoyable last year we hope more Shorecrest residents will join the fun this year. Watch for flyers with more details!

June 2017 was the first year participating in the Shelton Relay for Life and WE WERE AWESOME all in hot pink, having the largest team represented with 40 participants! Shorecrest’s “Team Connie” walked a lot of miles and over $2,000 in donations were made to the American Cancer Society on our behalf. It was wonderful to see our community pull together to honor Connie West as she continues to fight her battle with cancer. Thank you Shorecrest “Team Connie” for your generosity and we hope all will come out and participate again this year. Even if you are unable to walk the path you can still enjoy the event, which includes live entertainment, and your support is greatly appreciated. Some other community events were our 4th of July picnic BBQ by the pool which is a wonderful way to kick off the summer and have some fun. Our annual SHOREFEST celebration with delicious food, beautiful décor and entertainment by the Union River Band (along with our giant waterslide) created the perfect sunny afternoon event. We also had a great turn out for our annual Thanksgiving dinner. It was extra special this year with spontaneous Christmas Carols and other entertainment. Thank you so much to our members and their families for participating!

WORK volunteers needed

We continue to maintain and improve our Shorecrest neighborhood. Neighborhood work parties have helped to maintain our parks and last year a special effort was made to improve the park’s play area. The big toy was stained, covered picnic areas painted, basketball courts cleaned, painted and nettings for the hoops replaced. Horse shoe pits were also added for our members to enjoy. Volunteers worked to landscape the sign area at the Shorecrest entrance and volunteers also planted and maintained the community garden. It takes a lot of work to do these projects, but the more people who help the easier it is. Volunteers are always needed and greatly appreciated! We also understand that sometimes homeowner’s tasks can seem overwhelming, especially for the elderly or those with health issues. If you are in a situation where you need help, please call the office and let us know. We may be able to help.

2018 CALENDAR of events

In additional to our usual awesome events, we would like to try to add some additional events this year, possibly a monthly potluck, but in order to do so we need more volunteers to help organize. Please contact the office with your ideas!

We encourage our members to attend our monthly meetings (10 AM; 2nd Saturday of every month). It’s a great way to get to know your neighbors, get involved, offer help, and show your support. We look forward to a great year for our Shorecrest residents!
